beto being elected would be huge for texas. as someone from there, lemme tell you, he’s someone the state sorely needs. texas is in desperate need of a democrat and Beto is our best bet. in recent polls, cruz was shown to be ahead, but not by much. cruz. cannot. win.
there are ways you can help! if you live in Texas, you can sign up to volunteer. you can volunteer to do things such as send texts, emails, knock on doors. typical campaign stuff.
if you don’t live in Texas, you can donate. you don’t have to live in the state to donate. donating is one of the best ways you can support him because it funds his campaign! as mentioned above, he doesn’t take PAC money. he is 100% grassroots campaign, funded by people, for people.
i’m going to reiterate this. any us citizen* can donate. any. doesn’t matter where you live in the united states. so, I urge. if you don’t live in texas, donate. the average donation amount is $35, but any amount will help.
*if you don’t live in the united states/aren’t a citizen, legally you cannot donate. i don’t make the rules guys.
if you can’t donate, please reblog this so others can see it. people can’t vote in midterms if they don’t know who their nominees are.
this midterm election is crucial. getting Beto into the senate is crucial. reblog or donate!
Do not blame yourself for your food, transportation or recycling habits. Any individual contribution is minuscule compared to the free for all our governments allow corporations to get away with.
What we need to do is direct this anger and worry about our future at politicians, like Justin Trudeau who are building oil pipelines during a global crisis and to even worse leaders like Trump who are pretending climate change isn’t even real, and to the corporations that are lobbying governments to make it happen.
Also we can do something about this.
If you live in Canada, we have a Federal Election next year, in the fall of 2019 ((as well as an Alberta Provincial election in the spring).
We can vote out the politicians who are heavily lobbied by the oil industry (Conservatives and Liberals), and vote in the politicians who are less so (NDP and Greens).
If you live in the USA, I’m pretty sure you guys have midterm elections this November, so if you want to help dismantle Trump’s anti-climate change policies, you can vote out the Republicans and you just might be shift the majority from Republicans to Democrats.
Hank Green + his friends made a whole YouTube channel dedicated to videos explaining how to vote in every. single. state. None of them are longer than three and a half minutes. Deadlines to register are fast approaching in a lot of places so it’s incredibly important that everyone is well informed about what they need to do in order to exercise their right and make their voice heard. Go forth, America. Show up for what you believe in. Make good choices. Please.
