Iris tried so hard to be the perfect everything in Barry’s absence, perfect mom, perfect Journalist, perfect team leader, that she forgot to let herself grieve. She never grieves openly to anyone but Barry, so without him there’s no more filter for her sadness, she just keeps it all in. She believes it’s her job to let everyone else fall apart if they have to, and then put them back together. It’s what she did when Barry disappeared for six months, it’s how it will be when he disappears for 25 years. She can never be the one who falls apart herself. So she never does. And maybe it got to the point where Nora mistakenly started to believe that she didn’t love Barry at all. Of course now that Nora’s here, she will see firsthand how much Iris loves and adores Barry, she’s going to see what we see.
