Respect to Adachitoka and Isayama for giving gender conventions the middle finger and giving the girls the redemption and more complex arcs that are always reserved for the boys.

Let’s Talk About Love is such a great and refreshing series. It’s down to earth and blunt yet feels real and natural. It references often but it doesn’t feel forced.
Alice is such a great MC. She’s upbeat and adorkable yet has a sadness that while can dig deep never defines her.
(I also am in love with fact that she’s basically a meta writer, this book is so good and I’m not even halfway through it)
Oh my god Alice listens to anime openings.
God i love how Alicumi is developing
OH Fennie and Ryan. Their feelings are valid but man are they being really hypocritical in this situation. And this seems to stem from the lie of how romantic relationships are more important than friendships.
Feenie is a murder child. I love her
SHE DREAMS ABOUT ALICUMI AUS. MY CHILD IS SO DAMN ADORABLE
And Claire Kann must have been on a personal mission to make all the readers smile like little idiots. She got the fluffiest situations from fanfics and just canonized them with her OTP. She got no chill.
SOMEONE DRAW THE ALICUMI MOMENTS. PLEASE. THERE IS SO MUCH MATERIAL.
Me seeing the love fans and the Crew give Jasper:

Me waiting for Jasper to be remotely hinted at on the show:

I can’t believe the AFO is Izuku’s Dad theory still persists bc it literally does nothing for the story but give a neat thing of ‘Oh look Izuku became the top hero even though he was born from darkness’.
Looking at how Horikoshi brings very real issues to the series and constantly shows how Izuku is different from all the other families in a way most people in society would look down on him pulling such a card is just weird.
It doesn’t work with the themes of choosing who you want to be. Izuku being a random kid working hard to become number 1 is much more interesting than the overused ‘Main Characters is Villains kid proving himself to not be his father.“
Even more so bc we have that trope being used with Shouto and Shigaraki (both the trope and it’s subversion is used here as Nana is a hero and AFO is clearly a dad figure) and even Eri (Her family are Yakuza and Overhaul is both a brother and father figure) and theyre all being written in a way thats wayy different then the cliche the fandom keeps up with.
During Shouto’s realization Rei tells him not be a slave to his blood and his arc is literally about him choosing to be his own person despite all that Endeavor did to him and his family. Anyone wanting Izuku to be ‘darker’ bc of his connection are pretty much shown just what Horikoshi thinks of that,
And anyone saying how Izuku and Shouto can parallel each other with their dad’s, they already do with All Might and Izuku and Endeavor and Shouto. Hell one can say Izuku and his biological dad already do as both him and Endeavor were shit to their family and the sons are working hard to not be defined by thst,
Plus it makes no sense for AFO to have a kid with Inko and just…. leave them alone? Why would he let such a loose end live in the first place if he even leaves them alone? Am I the only one who sees that as downright stupid coming from a very intelligent guy?

I knew Ghouls were based on minorities. Eto, the Kirishimas, and so many ghouls in poverty reminded me of what many POC and LGBTQ have to deal with. Ayato going to Aogori is literally one reason as to why kids join extremist cells. Eto manipulating Hinami is another. Not being able to get proper education, conditioned to become the image the priveledged show you as, they dynamic of the Ward groups, Kuzen hurting and not really helping the Anteiku ghouls to placate the privileged and hiding your own self to live in the system, yeah Ishida so based them of minitories. The Washuus Edit: and Tsukiyamas remind me so much of rich minorities that care about themselves and fuel the system to fit in.
I’m willing to bet they’re inspired by the Ainu considering theyre referenced a lot.
While there are things that do irk me (even then it looked Ishida was going to flip that on its head) i like how Ishida showed how humans contributed to the mess. That even though many didn’t choose to be involved and none chose to be human, they’re still contributing and benefiting to the cycle that hurts everyone at the bottom of society bc they choose to do nothing and live comfortably.
Kanej and Mutsurie
I don’t think either Ishida or Leigh ever read each others works but I find it really interesting how both pairings are kinda similar.
Kaz and Urie (Similarities):
– Both lost a loved one to the system.
– Then they join said system to climb through the ranks. The reasons are the complete opposite.
– Are so damn emotional repressive
– Super protective of their significant other
– Fully realizes their feelings when the risk of death is right in front of them.
– Both choose to stay in the end
Inej and Mutsuki (Similarities):
– Both were forced into the system and were used by it.
– Character arcs entail them being able to face themselves and overcome their trauma
– Have a nice friendship with another female character (Nina, Saiko)
– Dark-skinned knife-wielding badasses.
– Were able to break through to their significant other.
– Stabbed in the chest and hugged by their significant other albeit in different ways (Kaz SO hugged Inej)
– Chose to go somewhere else in the end.
—————————————————-
I think Kanej’s ending was what Ishida might have been aiming for with Mutsurie but didn’t have enough time and focus to really get it through properly.
Kaz and Inej know they have romantic feelings for each other but also accept that they want different things and won’t let anyone stop them. They also acknowledge that they can’t be like a traditional couple. But rather then breaking apart the two chose to work together in destroying the system from the inside and out.
These kind of ships are the end of me. I love these guys so much.
One thing that really pisses me of about the people that put Hiiro on a higher standard than Yato is how they ignore canon much for such a superficial reason.
Hiiro and Yato are so DAMN similar.
They’re both Fujisaki’s kids. They’re both abused by him. They’re both forced to depend on him for survival for CENTURIES. They’re both looked down by society. They’re both tied to Yukine.
They’re both Strays.
Yato is most likely (pretty obvious but the theory isnt confirmed yet sooo) the Noragami the title refers to.
And Hiiro funnily enough is introduced as Nora.
The Noragami and the Norashinki. Both siblings whose characters arcs about overcoming their trauma and seeking love.
It’s almost as of Adochitika made these parallels intentional.
