Why should Envy be jealous of humans? They can’t regrow limbs *or* shapeshift into dragons, and Greed proves that homunculi are just as capable of growing and making friends when they put the effort into it as humans are.

Envy isn’t capable of those relationships because they will always be envious of something. They will always want something they can’t have, always be jealous of their friends, always be unhappy. Greed, on the other hand, isn’t capable of envy. He will always want something bigger and better *personally*, but not necessarily *intrapersonally*. He wants friendships and bonds; Envy doesn’t, but is jealous that other people have it.
