i love lizzy but dear please don’t center your life around ciel and wanting to be cute for him. i feel her glow up in the Atlantic arc was meaningless if she is gonna fall back into those misogynistic Victorian traits so ciel can love her.

we need to see her wearing high heels like she wanted, and being as flamboyant and bold as possible. i don’t want to see her remain a doll to please ciel forever. like damn, she needs to open up a class where she teaches girls to fence or something under her mother’s nose.

like don’t let how ciel sees you define who you are. be like sulivan who doesn’t give two shits about how men and male dominated societies view her. eat with your damn hands lizzy.

it’s not Tone Policing to say that being a hostile, actively adversarial, wholly unpleasant person who assumes the worst intent of everyone who appears to disagree with you makes people less likely to listen to what you have to say even if your opinions are right. This post is not about “the SJWs” or whatever and I really don’t want to see it misused in that way, all I’m saying is that there are many situations where you can be in the right and still use rhetorical tactics that make it reasonable for people to disagree with you, and you don’t have to be nice to awful people (in fact you SHOULD be an asshole to them) but if you can’t tell the difference between awful people and regular people who are just wrong and you’re indiscriminately an asshole to everyone who isn’t With You, and is therefore With The Enemy, nobody’s going to want to be associated with you even if your side is the right one, and that’ll be your fault and yours alone.

“We want the museum to understand that the moai are our family, not just rocks. For us [the statue] is a brother; but for them it is a souvenir or an attraction,” said Anakena Manutomatoma, who serves on the island’s development commission. “Once eyes are added to the statues, an energy is breathed into the moai and they become the living embodiment of ancestors whose role is to protect us.”

isnt the point of a museum to preserve history though? id prefer something be in a controlled environment than outside in the elements.

The moai have been standing JUST fine in the open in the island for literal centuries. Believe it or not, the Rapa Nui are NOT stupid; they know their island, how to live in it, and what materials and treatment to those materials do or do not last in the island they’ve called their home for ages. The moai are MADE to be “outside in the elements”.

And preserved for whom? I’m sure my ancestors wouldn’t feel it’s preservation to have a LIVING piece of their culture stolen by colonizers and kept away from them all this fucking long when I assure you, no one asked for their permission to take it in the first place.

That’s not fucking “preserving”, that’s just fucking stealing, and a loss of culture for the Rapa Nui.
