so now that tumblr has an option to report art depicting porn of fictional minors, i searched some of the fandoms particularly plagued by this shit (voltron, homesuck, bnha, etc) + the term ‘nsfw’, and

it’s already all gone!!!!!!!!!!!! even all the stark/parker blogs!!

i even tried searching some notorious pedophiles like toxicgummy, and theyve all been deleted. tumblr really is finally doing something about this. only when apple pushed them to, but FINALLY.

this has been a huge problem on here for years, i was exposed to this shit as a 14 year old on this website and it fucked me up. i know the same thing happened to lots of other kids, and some were even groomed by adults into seeing this shit as normal due to its prevalence. and now it’s finally gone!!!

It might not be gone, just unsearchable.

Tumblr’s stupid decision to use a bot instead of a person capable of exercising judgment didn’t just go after C/P content, but anything tagged n/sfw, or with words connected to such content like bar/a.

HOWEVER. If you still follow these blogs, you can see their content. They just can’t be SEARCHED.

And while this is a good thing when it comes to stuff depicting minors, it’s awful for people who produce ADULT content. That means sex-workers and adult performers who use Tumblr as a platform to draw people to their onlyfans, etc. That also means any artist who has ever posted a nude drawing and tagged it appropriately.

This isn’t “The evil is defeated”, it’s solving problems by blowing up the world.

A lot of artists who produce adult content have migrated to Twitter, which is much clunkier and limits you on post length, or retreated to niche art sites like deviantart and furaffinity, where they’ll get less exposure.

Tumblr apparently learned nothing from LiveJournal and its death, and destroyed itself.

Come on tech kids, you guys know how shitty things can get on social media platforms and now have the ability to create your own.
